The Damned 1st Anniversary Gigs Poster 1977

An original promotional poster for The Damned, advertising the band’s 1st Anniversary Gigs at the legendary Marquee Club in London, scheduled for July 3, 4, 5, and 6, 1977. Although four nights were advertised, the performances on July 5 and 6 were ultimately cancelled following a dispute with the venue’s management. The band insisted on using a custom backdrop designed by vocalist Dave Vanian, which the Marquee refused to allow as it obscured the venue’s logo. To mark the occasion, The Damned distributed a free, limited-edition promotional single to fans in attendance, featuring the tracks “Stretcher Case Baby” and “Sick of Being Sick.” The poster measures 76 x 50.5 cm The condition of the poster is Very good + with some light creasing and small pinholes to the corners
