An original photograph of Ringo Starr preparing for tonsil surgery in December 1964. He checked into the University College Hospital in London on the 1st of December 1964, for a scheduled operation. Ringo Starr held a short press conference before checking into the hospital for the surgery. His tonsils had reportedly caused him significant trouble throughout that year.
