David Bowie Brussels Autograph 12th June 1978
A British embassy invitation which has been signed by David Bowie in blue ballpoint pen.
The autograph was obtained at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Brussels on Monday the 12th of June 1978.
The Autograph comes with a note from the original owner which reads:
In 1978 I was working at the British Embassy in Brussels.
My friend and I had got tickets for Bowie's concert at Forest Vorst National Stadium on Monday 12th June 1978 which cost 340 Belgium francs (about £5.50 at the time).
My friend found out that he was staying at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Brussels, so we left the concert early and waited around the foyer, the hotel had not arranged security until after the concert when a large number of fans arrived. After a while he arrived with a girlfriend and we went up to him and asked for his autograph.
The only thing I had for him to write on was an invitation to a British Embassy reception a week later.
He signed the card and asked us if we liked the concert, being such a great fan of his I was struck dumb and just didn't know what to say!
Nearly 50 years later I can remember the wonderful occasion as if it was yesterday.
The autograph comes with the Ticket Stub from the concert and a Hyatt Regency hotel cocktail stirrer

The condition of the invitation is very good – with some wear to the corners
