The Beatles Washington Autographs 1964

An extremely rare and highly desirable set of The Beatles Autographs, which are found on a blank index card signed beautifully in pencil.

The signatures were obtained on February 11, 1964, the date of The Beatles’ first U.S. concert, held at D.C. Stadium in Washington, D.C.

 The card was signed shortly after the band’s arrival in Washington following their train journey from New York City. The autographs were acquired by a chauffeur who was driving the group in the city and later gifted the signed card to a friend of his daughter, with whom it remained for decades.

 The Beatles’ first U.S. concert performance at the Washington Coliseum in Washington, D.C came just days after the band historic performance on the Ed Sullivan show, They performed two sold-out shows that evening before a combined audience of approximately 16,000 fans.

 Beatles autographs dating from The Beatles’ first visit to America are considered among the most scarce and sought-after in the field of music memorabilia. This example, signed on a landmark date in the band’s history, represents an exceptional early-1964 set from their inaugural U.S. tour.
