Paul and Linda McCartney autographs 1978

A piece of white paper which has been signed by Paul and Linda McCartney in blue ballpoint pen.
Linda McCartney has added the inscription “To Sally Love” before her name.

The autographs were obtained on the Dover to London boat train in 1978 

The autographs come with a note from the original owner which reads:

“My brother has sent me the following about how he got their autographs for me
Linda and Paul McCartney's Signatures were signed on the Dover to London Boat Train. It was 1978 and I was on the train from Dover coming home on leave from Old Park Barracks. I was in combat uniform as I say on the way home on leave. The train was one of the old slam door types, but this was one with adjoining carriages that you could walk through. Linda and Paul were in the first-class carriage. I saw them through the window when I was walking through the carriage. I knocked on the door, and they invited me into their compartment. They had their children with them too, looking very smart.

They asked me to sit down, and we chatted about various things and about my time so far in the Army as they were genuinely interested in what I was doing. We talked for around 20 minutes or so. They were both very friendly and seemed to be just like any Mum and Dad with the kids playing around as we chatted. Just before I left Linda and Paul, I asked them to sign an autograph to Sally (my sister) which they were only too happy to do. I then left with a hug from Linda and a handshake from Paul. I then gave you the autograph from them both.
I was fifteen when my brother gave me the autograph and I've kept it all those years. I will be sixty-three this summer!”

The page measures 20.6 x 15.3 cm 

The condition of the page is very good + with a horizontal crease where it was folded
