John Lennon How I Won the War photograph 1966

An original photograph of John Lennon as Private Gripweed during the filming of the 1967 war film “How I Won the War”. A variation of this photo appeared on the cover of the very first issue of Rolling Stone magazine, published on the 9th of November 1967. Lennon received his first pair of round, wire-framed glasses (often called "granny glasses") for this role.
