John Lennon handwritten Postcard 1976

An original John Lennon Shaved Fish handwritten postcard to student music journalist Thea Weiss in black felt tipped pen.

The postcard reads: "Dear Thea, Thanx for letters, I'm too busy to do interview, Love, John Lennon. P.S. Please don't bother to reply."

The postcard comes with a letter from the original owner which reads:

“In 1976 I was eleven years old and living with my family on Manhattan's Upper West Side. I was a super enthusiastic Beatles fan; I was so excited when I learned that John Lennon lived a mere three blocks from my family's apartment. Not only did my friends and I spend hours standing across the street from the imposing gothic facade of The Dakota apartment building where Lennon lived, we also decided that we'd like to interview him for our school newspaper.

I then proceeded to send John Lennon about one hundred letters requesting an interview and asking to meet with him. After a few months, I received this postcard in the mail. I was both excited and disappointed. Now, when I reflect upon this postcard, I am amazed that John Lennon took the time to personally respond to my barrage of mail!
