John And Yoko Wedding Day Photograph

A modern print photograph of John Lennon and Yoko Ono on their wedding day in Gibraltar on the 20th of March 1969. The couple, both dressed in white, are shown posing on the airport runway before the Rock of Gibraltar, following their brief civil ceremony at the British Consulate Office. Their difficulty in finding a wedding location was immortalized in Lennon’s song “The Ballad of John and Yoko,” with the lyric: “Peter Brown called to say, ‘You can make it OK, you can get married in Gibraltar near Spain.’” After the ten-minute ceremony, the couple flew to Paris, then continued to Amsterdam for their famous “Bed-In for Peace.” The photograph measures 25.3 x 20.3 cm The condition is excellent
