George Harrison Australian Grand Prix Autograph 1999

An original 1999 promotional card of former German Formula One driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen for the Benson & Hedges Jordan Grand Prix team, which has been signed on the reverse by George Harrison, who has jokingly signed it as "Heinz-Harald Harrison" after the Formula One driver.

The autograph was obtained on the 7th of March 1999, when George Harrison attended the 1999 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

The Autograph comes with a note from the original owner which reads:

“It’s amazing to think back on my adventures now that I’m semi-retired and getting time to take my foot off the fast pedal a bit!

I met some truly wonderful people during my time working with EJ and his team, some humble and some not so much ;)

George was certainly one of the quietest and most beautiful souls that I have ever met! He loved EJ and the team and the tranquillity of the back of the team garage in Melbourne! He visited twice as I remember and with Barry Sheen too. We got a podium that day, so I celebrated with a beer unlike George who stuck with his bottle of water. I was sat at a table by our telemetry systems chatting about the data gathering systems that we used. He was genuinely interested and asked tons of questions. It was so bloody cool that we were just having a chat, and it was a relief that I knew the answers! There were driver cards on the table, and he doodled something on one of Heinz Harald Frentzens cards and slid it over to me.
I kept it of course. It was only when I checked it later that I saw what he’d written!

A bit sad that he blinked as the photo was taken, actually he may have dozed off listening to my thorough IT details. ;)

A lovely man and a totally unique memory.”

The Autograph comes with a photograph of George Harrison with the original owner at the race
