An original 1962 membership card for The Cavern Club, Liverpool, The card dates from a pivotal year in the club's history. Throughout 1962 The Beatles played regular lunchtime and evening sessions at the Cavern as they moved from a Liverpool club act towards their national breakthrough, having signed to Parlophone that June. It was also the year Ringo Starr joined the band, completing the definitive line-up. His first Cavern appearance as a Beatle came on the 19th of August 1962, a show remembered for the "Pete forever, Ringo never" protests from fans loyal to Pete Best. The card measures 10 × 6 cm. The condition of the membership card is good, with the middle pages coming loose.
